An atheist denies the existence of any supernatural beings (e.g., God, gods, angels, Satan, demons) or supernatural places such as heaven or hell. Many atheists (but not all) believe that Jesus Christ was a mythical figure created by first century Christians. None of them (that I know of) believe that he literally rose from the dead since this would be a supernatural event.
Many atheists call themselves "Brights" and take pride in putting reason above blind faith.
Many atheists are secular humanists, but not all of them.
Atheists do not believe that a person has to invoke a deity in order to live a moral life.

An athiest is somebody who does not believe in God,or any god for that matter. You can tell if there an athiest if the use the word "bible thumpers" or "religious nuts" referring ususally to Christians. and i like the name of your question because it makes people want to answer. hetty,age 11

My definition is: A person who can not reconcile their instinctive nature to believe in something greater than them and their reasoning and understanding as to how things work/are.
