Dear E,
I understand your concern. Be careful to not make it that eating is bad because kids also become anorexic or bulimic because they are too self conscious of becoming overweight. Also the flip side can be that they may eat more to comfort because they stress from the fear of they may be eating too much. Simply model good eating habits and exercise. Encourage 3 meals a day and healthy snack in between like fruits and veggies. Sweets and fatty foods shouldn't be forbidden but allowed in moderation. Good luck...you seem to be an awesome parent and as long as you love and nurture and give direction...your child will be fine =}

It's true!! Im an 'older' mom so my kids eating habits were more like when I was a kid. However, the ingredients in many foods have changed! We dont frequent hamburger joints and I have them eat from all the four food groups whenever possible. The only junk food I really allow indulgence in is breakfast cereals, but it has so many vitamens! Just dont eat fast food or buy snackie stuff unless its things such as fruit snacks, fruit cups, granola bars and beef jerky. The less the processing the better.
Peace.

No junk food. No fast food. Or at least very little. But most importantly, make your child do something. Don't let them sit in front of the TV or computer all evening. Go for a walk with them every day.

Dont cut out sweets and chocolate altogether - they will just want it more. Cook healthy meals for all the family together. You can also put smaller portions on the plate. Not too much smaller - do it gradually. If they are still not full after - try a strawberry smoothie or their favourite fruits in a smoothie. My fav is melon, strawberry and banana. They can try anything with that - and its all healthy.

Most easy-to-make, child-friendly foods are filled with carbs and sugar, in addition to the fast food dinners for those busy evenings. I think it's key to teach your child healthy habits while they're still young. Whole grains, protein, fruits and veggies are the most healthy and filling. Also, teaching them portion control is important. Thankfully, most food products are starting to be produced with whole grains and less trans fat these days.

In addition to diet, sign them up for an after-school sport they can participate in regularly. Video games and television should not be their only form of leisure.

Get them into sports and activities, keep healthy foods around the house, like fruits and veggies instead of oreo's and candy. Keep healthy drinks instead of soda. Yeah they'll get that stuff but you have to keep them as healthy as possible by teaching them activities and eating healthy. Don't make bad food easily available to them. Instead of McDonalds for dinner, get subway or Togo's. It's not too difficult. Lower sugar and caffine intake will help them to stay focused in school too cos they aren't super hyper.

We strictly cut back junk nutrition ranging from day a million. My son is nineteen months previous and has no thought what a rooster nugget is. we don't elminate undesirable-for-you nutrition....we do exactly no longer cope with it as something we consume daily. The worst factor a discern can do, in my view, is start up feeding a toddler based on the thought young toddlers will in basic terms consume particular meals. many mothers and fathers could be stunned to learn that youngsters ate and grew healthy previously the invention of warm canines, macaroni and cheese, and rooster arms. start up feeding your toddler and infant an excellent form of meals NOW. learn instruct that it may take 10-20 tries with a sparkling nutrition previously a toddler will settle for it. do no longer provide up. do no longer make seperate food on your toddlers. consume an identical meals at the same time as a family individuals. whilst your toddler sees which you're all ingesting an identical, they are going to be extra susceptible to consume the nutrition. Get lots of workout and set the example. circulate outdoors at the same time with your toddler. do no longer in basic terms deliver them out to play. circulate play with them. cut back television. young toddlers no longer would desire to be vegetables for hours and hours an afternoon. cut back it to a million hour an afternoon on college days (or much less) and not extra desirable than 2 hours an afternoon on weekends. extra effective yet, start up a rule that television and video games are for weekends in basic terms. BAN SODA. there is not any reason in any respect ANY toddler would desire to drink soda. EVER. i understand i'm the minority opinion in this, yet i in my view think of extra human beings will come around. Soda is crammed with extreme Fructose Corn Syrup which basically places your physique right into a diabetes mode for hours when you consume it. there is not any longer something sturdy approximately soda. in the journey that your toddler is already hooked on soda, attempt substituting soda for a million section juice blended with one section club soda (unsweetened fizzy water). sturdy luck!

take the child to the pediatrician. he/she can refer you to a nutritionist. diet and exercise always. get rid of and never buy junk food. start a healthy life with healthy food. my sister was obese as a child and i used to have nightmares of her having heart attacks. she finally did in her first year of college. that was her eye opener to do something about it.
