my suggestion would be that they lived their lives in a very natural way, and so why would there be need to cut hair? for example, they killed and ate animals and used EVERY single part of the body so that nothing would go to waste. surely cutting hair would be considered a waste of time/effort. also, many ethnicities considered long hair to be a sign of beauty or power, and to cut it off as shameful

Cultural, for men in particular. I have heard that often women did/do chop their hair off when they are grieving a loss. I don't know a lot, but I know there is an amount of symbolic and other cultural importance with their hair.

If you never cut your hair (or don't cut it for years and years even if you have cut it when you were young ...) it will grow that long. I'm guessing they also don't do as much straigtening, dying, blow drying, perming, etc that damages your hair.

Your hair grows the fastest when you are young, as you get older it slows down. So probably they start as children letting it grow and then it is that long their entire life.

Native people shave there childrens hair at around three so this makes there hair grow in darker, thicker and faster. Trust me i did that to my son when he was balding and his hair grew in real thick. Also they have more pigmentation.
