I am currently in camp Liberty Iraq. It is very nice compared to other camps in the past. They have nice Dinning facilities. The food is good and different variety. The latrines are trailers. They are cleaned daily by civilians. The showers have hot water, and you have sinks. Civilian contractors will always be living better than military personal. I hold a combat arms MOS(my job) and i live in an a/c trailer with a buddy. Ive seen civilian trailers and theirs are nicer than mine. The PX/bx has plenty of items. We say it has every thing you want maybe not everything you need. They sometimes run out of personal hygiene products for a day or 2, but that's the worst. They have all kinds of food, electronics, cleaning supplies, books, magazines, clothes. Its like a small tactical wal-mart. Its not bad at all. There is plenty of gyms, Internet cafes, recreation rooms and phone centers. I have a cell phone my wife calls me on from the states. It is not that bad here at all from what i have been though. if you have any questions fill free to e-mail me at chewy3288@yahoo.com. thanks

Wow - what will you be doing? I can't give you any hints since I've never been there - just be careful and keep your wits about you.

Good luck.
