I want to get him something that says "wow, my girlfriend is wonderful" but not "oh crap, she wants to marry me tomorrow!"
We'll have been together for 4 months. We are not into having sex or doing any of that kind of stuff right now, so none of those suggestions please.

Ok, here's a couple things you could get him...
You could get him a nice leather wallet, and in it put a picture of yourself and a giftcard to his favorite store.
You could get him a nice watch, observe if he wears them at all; some men couldn't live without them, some men don't even own one.
If he likes to be active, see what things he likes to do. You could get him something that corresponds with what he likes in that respect.
You could get him something like a Wii (250$), if he is into games or gadgets. This one is sort of cool because if you move the controllers, you move in the game. Little to none button pressing required.
Things not to get him are: Shoes, clothing, CD's, movies. He can buy those sort of things on his for himself. =)
Try to accent them with custom made things, like a card. They make the gift all the more meaningful.

Depends on what he likes. Maybe a gift card to Best Buy so he can choose what he wants himself...Most men like electronics....I think?

how about a certificate to a really nice restaurant with a great view of the sunset or the mountains at sunset....this can lead to all kinds of things!

Some CD's or DVD's that both of you like! that way you can watch/listen to them together!!

give him a card that says how much you love him in it, and like a little stuff christmas bear or somthing!
ordaments are also really good presents.. like the ones that are personalize with their name on it!

i think sporting event tickets are nice, maybe a pair of them if you want to go w/ him, or a bunch of on sale ones so he can go with his friends. good luck.
