Ok imagining I would be the boss of the new German administration of the US this is what I would change:
-Bud Light and such yellow water would be banned immediately
-@ a tru baller: you'll still be allowed to play the game you call football, but as it doesn't involve a ball but an egg-shaped thingy and the hand is used more often than the foot, it would be renamed handegg, while the game the rest of the world knows as football would be named football in the US as well.
-no speed limit on the interstates.
-New York would be Nieuw Amsterdam again to please our Dutch neighbors
-you wouldn't be allowed to speak German to avoid you guys butchering the German language like you did it with English.
-Amtrak would have to run on time
-The Golden Gate Bridge is so beautiful we would deconstruct it and find a place in Hamburg harbor to rebuild it there.
-Frankfort(Kentucky) would be renamed to whatever you like, because we already have two Frankfurts in Germany
-Lady Liberty would be known as Frau Freiheitsstatue. (all kids would have to learn how to pronounce that in school)
-the White House would be painted blue (my favourite color)
-and last but not least you would have to give our former national team coach Jürgen Klinsmann, who hides in California, back to us.

Now or in 1945? Now: nothing really. In 1945: The Nazi's would have a hard time controlling that much territory. They would have to convert a large number of the population to their beliefs in or to have order. This would mean that everyone that was non-white, homosexual, jewish, or communist would be exterminated. If the US had not entered WW2 in 1941 then England probably would have succumbed to Germany. Europe would have been very different. Nazi control and constant war with the Communists (Russia). One or the other would have used atomic/nuclear against the other. Hitler stays in power until 1965-1970, then maybe the Nazis continue to control Europe until today.

The U.S. would be almost impossible to occupy, with so many of it's citizens owning weapons. Constant guerrilla tactics would eventually wear down a German occupying army, as the American colonialists did to the British army during the Revolution.
