Has anyone read the "Prop 65" warnings on the back of Christmas tree light boxes... ???!! Oh my goodness!

They are warning that the plastic coating contains LEAD and that it can cause reproductive and birth defects.. and can cause cancer! It's in all Walmart stores under the brand "Holiday Time"... Other stores carry different brands, and they all have the warning!

Why do they allow this??????????????????????????????

I believe it's not just the lights, it's also the cords. And contrary to what most people know it's not just christmas lights,it's also present in almost all electrical cords. I don't know why it's there, it seems to me with all the knowledge in the world today there should be no reason why lead should be used in so many things today, people think just because led isn't in home paint or crayons anymore it's not in anything. But that is just not true

It can be present in eletrical cords, fuses, professional art paint, computer cords, cables and much more!

unless you didn't know, anything made of cheap vinyl (which the covering on the wires is probably made of) and old vinyl has lead in it. older and some cheaper mini-blinds contain lead, thats why they say to not breathe in the dust from a window sill because as they blinds deteriorate the lead dust from the blinds falls into the sill. also all old vinyl records contain lead, and will cause cancer if you handle them too much. So old, and cheap vinyl products should generally be avoided if you are seriously that afraid of lead.

That's the old ones. Not the newer ones.
