Like....here ya go:

2100 BC (4100 years ago): Abraham was born with the name Abram in the Babylonian city of Ur (Iraq). Estimates as to the era in which Abraham lived can vary from 2100 BC to 1800 BC (sometime between 4100 years ago and 3800 years ago). Details about Abraham's life are provided in the Bible's book of Genesis, primarily in chapters 11 through 25.

The book of Genesis explains that Abraham was a faithful man, that he believed in the one true God. Abraham's faith was tested by God. For example, Abraham was asked to leave his country and go to a land that God would show him (the land of Canaan, which later became Israel).

This is found in Genesis 12:1-4, which says:

" The Lord had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.

"I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.

I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you." "

First of all - you received a lot of half correct or incorrect answers to your question. Here is the correct information.

Judiasm started when God spoke to heaven in the city of Ur in the year 3,761 BC, it is now year 5767 in the jewish calendar versus our calendar which sows the year as 2006, see explanation below..

You may recall that he asked Abraham to execute his son to show his faith in god and his direction. God stopped him at the last second, Abraham had his knife out and was ready to plunge it into his sons heart. Then he directed Abraham to be circumcized as a sign of sacrifice and obidience to him, instead of killing his son. This is still practiced today by all jewish men.

The Jewish year is as follows:

Jewish Year 5767 : sunset October 3, 2006 - nightfall October 5, 2007.

So, it is 2006 in the Gregprian calendar which we follow therefore Judiasm started 3,761 B.C.. Pretty amazing when you understand that Judiasm was practiced 3,761 years before Jesus was born, it is a very old religion and the oldest monotheistic religion by far.

With Abraham. Abraham was born in the year 1948 from creation and began his mission in the year 2000. That's 3767 years ago according to the Jewish tradition.

Then Revelation at Sinai occurred in the year 2448 from creation...that's when the Ten commandments (and the rest of the Torah) were given. That's 3319 years ago.

Abraham was the beginning of that faith. The origins of the race and the exact year of Abraham are unclear, but the beginning of the religion is clearly Abraham.
