In my opinion Gib is ok, but not as a holiday destination. I would stay somewhere like estepona in south spain, where you can travel into Gib within 20 mins, because you can see all the attractions in a day!!! Also the weather there is weird.....every time i have been (I went once a week while working in spain) the morning is always typical british weather....drizzly and miserable!! I got kind of bored after a couple of day visits, but at least staying in spain you have more options of things to do but you can go to Gib too!

There is plenty to do at Gibraltar ,you can go to see the monkey`s /dolphin`s /st Michael`s cave`s / needle point (the most southern point in Europe ) / the 10 tonne cannon / The war grave`s / & you can actually go and explore inside the rock it`self and see how the british army dug out the inside of the rock /the history of this place is unreal ! there is also a good selection of duty free shop`s ( be carefull what you buy as the custom`s are very strict on the amount of money you can spend there ) ( the shop`s won`t tell you this & will happily let you spend & get over your duty allowance knowing the custom`s will take it off you )
Just outside of Gib is a town called la-linea ,there is some very good and cheap shop`s there !
Gibraltar is brilliant for a weekend but no longer !

no longer for a committed holiday. remember that's an extremely small place, as quickly as you have finished the instructor holiday around the rock, visited the caves, had your snacks stolen via the apes and been buying there is little else to do. The rock is overpopulated and intensely crowded, and there are various eating places, yet maximum serve undesirable high quality foodstuff. additionally the inhabitants seem no longer too welcoming of holiday makers. costs in the branch shops are very much less costly, yet because of the British, Spanish dispute over possession of Gibraltar, products extra there may well be subjected to tax or confiscation whilst returning to Mainland Spain. So it could be ok as a cruise supply up or to spend a pair of days as element of a Spanish holiday, yet i won't propose it as a solo holiday holiday spot. Why no longer e book each week on the coast close to Gib' and do a day trip there. Fuengiorola is super, merely twenty minutes from Malaga airport, no longer as extreme as Marbella yet a good coastline, friendly and close sufficient for a reliable holiday to Gib.

I would say there is not a lot to do there. Basically its just one long street with shops, cafes, duty free etc and then the rock with its many monkeys. No more than a couple of days needed I reckon.
