Yes, Muscle Cramps are called a Charlie Horse
They can be caused by not having enough electrolites in your system. and get triggered by cold air getting to your muscles.
They go away when you massage the muscle but if you do not get
enough potassium or salts in your diet they can come back.
Exercise can cause this too because you build up Lactic Acid in the muscle. If you walk and stretch after exersising you should not get them.

Yep, that's a Charlie Horse (who comes up with these names?!)
Try to keep bananas in the house -they are a great source of potassium and eating one when you start to feel a cramp coming on can stop it from getting worse - if no bananas are around, try stretching the muscle - sit up in bed, extend your leg in front of you, grab your toes, and pull the toes toward your chest. Good luck.

Quinine, found in bottled tonic water (not soda water) is excellent for muscle spasms of the legs. I also agree with upping the potassium (found in bananas).
