I have started my strict diet 15 days ago. I am exercising, weight lifting, drinking water, and less eating, but so far I have lost hardly 2 pounds. Is this because I have no menstruation this month and it has been almost 20 days over?

Hello:
This answer is in response to your question concerning your lack of a menstrual cycle.
There are many reasons why women will miss a period. It is called "amenorrhea".
The very first thing you must do is have a pregnancy test done if you are overdue.
Common causes of lack menses are as follows:
1. pregancy
2. over dieting, rapid weight loss, over exercise--society always makes women think they must look like the bony models in mags and on tv, however, when a woman over does it, it can cause amenorrhea.
3. anorexia nervosa is a very common cause of cessation of periods.
4. your description in your question probably has nothing to do with you not having a period.
5. polycystic ovarian disease--these patients are usually obese and have not only amenorrhea but "wacky" periods, ie. more than one per month, heavier than usual, etc.
6. being started on a new birth control pill.
7. female hormone, ie. estrogen and progesterone imbalances.
8. stress
These are the most common reasons for amenorrhea.
I see a lot of women in my practice who complain of missed periods and usually it is very easy to determine the cause if I follow the above reasons during my workup.
If you are not pregant and have three consecutive months of amenorrhea, you should seek advice from your Gynecologist as soon as possible.
Just a quick note, most women will have months where they will miss a period, especially as they get older and begin to go through peri-menopause.
I dont know how old you are so I cant say if that plays into your problem.

probably- all the stress has probably stopped your period blood wise but not water-weight gain.dont be discouraged it takes a bit to notice a difference

Changing your diet and a change in stress level can change your menstrual cycle.
