I've only been on Yahoo Answers for a short time. In that short time I've seen an escalation of baiting questions, obscene questions and icons, and general pettiness.
I have no idea why.
As far as confusion goes, I think it's not confusion so much as it pretended ignorance. Or maybe genuine ignorance.

Contradiction, contradiction, freedom of speech, and... contradiction.
Let people say what they think. If you can't answer their questions satisfactorily, don't dismiss them and label them confused. That's just not nice.
