Many of those who have answered have indicated you may need to answer some questions for yourself before you can get an estimate. Armstrong has a ton of questions you can ask to help guide you:

Q: What "look" do you want?

The first step in choosing a floor is deciding what look you want in individual rooms and throughout your home.

Q: Are you installing a floor in the bathroom?

Full baths and half baths have different floor requirements.

Q: On what level of your home will the floor be installed?

On grade (ground level), above grade (above ground level) and below grade (basements and below ground level) locations will affect your floor choice.

Q: Is the room exposed to a lot of direct sunlight?

Natural sunlight, or ultra violet (UV) light, can change a floor's color.

Q: How long do you expect the floors to last?

The least expensive option may be the most expensive if it needs to be replaced down the road.

Q: Do you plan to sell your home in the foreseeable future?

Some floors add more value to a home than others.

Q: Have you considered all the costs involved with a new floor?

The floor product can be just the tip of the cost iceberg.

And on and on

Well it's all about the square footage and the type of floor you want to put down.
Measure the length and width of the kitchen then multiply the two for the square footage. Pick out the type of floor you want and find out what the cost is per square foot. Multiply the cost times the square footage of the kitchen floor.
Example: Your kitchen floor is 12 feet long and 10 feet wide totaling 120 sq ft. You want to put down ceramic tile that cost $2.00 a sq ft. The cost of the tile is $240 plus the materials. If you hire a contractor then ask how much he charges per sq ft to install ceramic tile. The average is about $4 to $7 a sq ft.

Depends on the square footage and the type of floor you wish to lay.

Materials for a quality wood floor cost between $3 and $7 per square foot. Then another $3-$4 a foot to have it installed.

You can buy an inexpensive floor at Lowes or Home Depot that you can lay yourself. It's not too difficult.

Tile or Marble is another possibility but these floors cost more to purchase although about the same to install.

Hope that answers your question.

I was looking at home depot for some new tile. It was 4.50 a square foot per tile and installation. So measure the length by width and multiply and you have your square footage
