Generally when a dog loses the shine to it's coat it is either sick, or has worms. It sounds like your dog isn't feeling well, and you may need to get her checked out.

it could be that her diet needs changing a dog on a good quality diet has a lovely shiny coat,has she recently be spayed?if so this can make the coat lose some of its shine and bounce.illness could also be the cause so i'd advice you to take her to the vets for a check up and ask them about diet.good luck

Try putting some cod liver oil in with her feed and it will help her coat as for staying in the kennell, is she about to come into season?? or she may be depressed??? Good Luck xx
