No it is not. The lack of prejudice was one of the reasons that led Malcolm X out the Nation of Islam into real Islam. On his hajj visit he wrote a letter to his family and friends, part of it reads:
"America needs to understand Islam, because this is the one religion that erases from its society the race problem. Throughout my travels in the Muslim world, I have met, talked to, and even eaten with people who in America would have been considered white - but the white attitude was removed from their minds by the religion of Islam. I have never before seen sincere and true brotherhood practiced by all colors together, irrespective of their color."
"... During the past eleven days here in the Muslim world, I have eaten from the same plate, drunk from the same glass, and slept on the same rug - while praying to the same God - with fellow Muslims, whose eyes were the bluest of blue, whose hair was the blondest of blond, and whose skin was the whitest of white. And in the words and in the deeds of the white Muslims, I felt the same sincerity that I felt among the black African Muslims of Nigeria, Sudan and Ghana."
When a Muslim stands to pray, he prays side by side in equality with every other Muslim. You see the princes in Saudi Arabia praying alongside everyone else. They also make their Hajj this way. Material wealth does not make your status as a Muslim or as a person any higher than any other.
But, the whole race, wealth issue is not the only difference between the Nation of Islam and Islam. Islam is built on the belief:
"There is no God, but Allah, and Muhammad peace be upon him, is the Final Messenger."
Muslims believe that there is no prophet after the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), however, they believe something very contrary to this: that Elijah Muhammad, one of the founding members of the Nation of Islam is a prophet sent by God with a message.

The Nation of Islam is a religion for black people. That would be the #1 difference. I don't know enough about "regular" Islam to answer the second question.

Islam is the ONLY religion in which you will se people, women and men, call each other BROTHER or SISTER NO MATTER OF COLOR.
It does not matter what color or race you are. If you are a muslim you are a brother or sister to other muslims.
There is NO seperation.
You will see many white and black christians, catholics, etc, and THEY would never call each other BROTHEr. Especially the blacks and whites, after the slavery issue.
MALCOM X went to "Hajj" pilgramage and saw it with his own eyes where people from all around the world called each other brother and sister, no matter of color or wealth. When he tried to show and explain that to white america, he was killed. I'm a muslim from Bosnia living in US and learned alot about the color differences here in the USA and the prejudices people have.
Anyways, Islam DOES NOT ALLOW prejudice to race or wealth.
We are all created by Allah and we are all brothers and sisters.

From what i understand, u . s . a . of Islam is a rustic which makes use of Islam regulation, it is not mandatory that each and all the resident are muslim, The non-Muslim can decide for to stay by the guideline of their faith or Islam's rule. as an occasion, Medina (for the period of Muhammed prophet) is a rustic of Islam, yet there is Jews who're no longer Muslim, they are able to stay a typical existence.

In the "Nation of Islam", founded by "The Honorable Elijah Muhammad" - racism is not only "permitted" - it's a DOCTRINE.
Calling the Nation truly Islamic is like saying that the Ku Klux Klan is authentic Christianity.

Islam is a complete religion. Nation of Islam came out as a reform against whites i believe. They mixed islam with their own beliefs. Islam is different. Islam is religion from Allah (SWT). When someone creates new ideas in it, they are not islamic. Nobody can bring out anything new in Islam or compromise it. It is as it is from Allah.
