The Bible says in 2 Corinthian 6:14, "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?" So what is your take?

"Missionary dating" is dating an unbeliever in hopes of winning them to faith in Jesus Christ.

How do you get dating out of that verse? That verse means spending time, period. Not strictly romantic relationships. Not to mention, dating wasn't even done back then. Once you hit puberty, you were married off to whoever your parents decided was the best match financially. Love had nothing to with it.

Corinthians was written by Paul, who was very well known for his advocacy of celibacy and hatred of women and his idea of "marry if you absolutely have to but it is preferable to God if you don't". The same God who elsewhere mentions that marriage is a good thing, if not mandatory.

That said, I don't agree at all with dating someone in order to prosetlyze to them. There are relationships and marriages everyday where each party is a different religion (or lack thereof) and everyone gets along great. Why do both parties have to belong to the same religion? They don't. If you can't accept someone for who they are, then you don't belong in a relationship with them.

I thought this was a survey about missionary position and being for or against it. This one I never heard of so I have no take.

Dating someone to change their beliefs (is that missionary dating?) is deceptive. You should love them for who they are or find someone to date that is more suited for you ... and be friends with the non-believer.

I think missionaries should be obedient to their mission rules. If they say no dating until the mission is over, then no dating until the mission is over, and vice-versa.
