if you lose your permit.. like misplaced it. (not taken away by the police) do you know how much it would be to get a new one in Alabama? also, do you go to the exact same place where you went to get your permit or could you go to a different place closer by and get a new one by paying a fee. sorry if this is confusing, i'm just wondering because i lost mine. so would they give you a paper permit and then send you a hard one in the mail again and would they retake your picture? j/w thanks!

Go to the license branch with your 6 points of id and apply for a replacement permit. They will issue you a new onw with a new photo. The cost depends on the state, could be about $16.

Any DMV would be able to replace it. The costs vary from county/state to county/state.
