First of all, BAD BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Second, WHY DID YOU DO IT????????????? And third, you should just admit it, and deal with the consequences.

Well, since you seem to be feeling bad about what you did, I think the best thing you can do is to take it back to the owner and give the dog back. OR, you can have someone else do it for you. If you are afraid of being charged with a crime, you could always go to the neighborhood where you found the dog, knock on doors right around where you took the dog from and tell the neighbors you found the dog in the area and wondered if they recognized who it belonged to. Then if they don't recognize the dog, you could also knock on the door of the owners and say you have been knocking on doors trying to find out who this dog may belong to as you found it loose in the neighborhood.
This way the dog gets back home and the owners will be very grateful, you won't face prosecution and hopefully you won't ever do it again.
I don't recommend taking it to the SPCA or a shelter because it is too likely that the owners may not get reunited with the dog. Another thing you can do if the dog was wearing a collar with a rabies tag from a Vet clinic, you can call that clinic and they should have a record of which dog got that rabies tag. Tell them you found the dog and you are trying to locate the owners.
It's good that you are concerned to get the dog back to its owners.

I know you stole it in the first place, but you seem to have realised it was wrong. Or the family missed the dog or you couldnt take care of it or whatever. The important thing is, your willing to return it. I think you should just knock on the door, and say you found a dog, and some kids in the street told you where it was from. Or if you actually know the owner, say you saw the dog around and know it was thier's, or get someone they dont know to return it using my first excuse. Either way - good luck whatever you choose to do, as long as the dog is back with it's rightful and loving owner x

Shame on you!!!!!! What happened, is the dog to much to handle and it's not what you thought it would be? I hope it isn't sick!!! Go knock on the peoples door and apologize!!! I'm wondering what kind of dog is it? How long have you had it? Some little child may be heart sick over their missing dog.Even an adult!! PLEASE take the dog back where it belongs.....don't just dump it or give it to someone else. This may be an animal, but they have feelings too. Do the right thing!!!!! Alot of people are saying to tell the owners you found it... tell the truth!! Why do two things by stealing and lying??

*tsk tsk tsk* silly boy. first off no more stealing other people pets. now. if it is a reasonable excuse and the dog has a tag then take it to the front door and say you found it. if that isn't reasonable then put up notices with pictures saying you found it and how to contact you. if you had a reason for stealing the dog like animal abuse then take it in to the aspca and say the dog was being abused and it looked like u could save it so u did. and i also suggest that u take this post off after u get some good answers because people will ask questions what f the dogs owner is readint this right now? hmm? u'd kinda be screwed then. not ur smartest move mister.

Stealing a Dog?????

Well, even if you did something really, really wrong you should still get some props for trying to return it. Tell the owners of the dog (which are probably worried sick) that you found the dog wondering around the neighborhood.
IF the owners saw you, I can only say good luck. Also, don't steal anymore dogs. They are really loving animals.

I really don't know why you would steal a dog but, if you did then you could either:
1. Knock on their door and tell them that you just happened to find her. That is if they don't know that you were the one who stole her.
2. Like other people said, sneak back to their house and put her back in their yard or tie her on their porch, leaving her food and water!
3. Try the honest approach. Fess up and return their dog.
There are certainly some strange people in this world..you are one of them..

Omg r u serious? Well depending on why u stoled it in the first place - if the dog was being abused bring it to your local shelter or for no reason at all just bring it back to the owners. The owners would probably be grateful to get their dog back.

I'm not sure why you stole a dog and it was a very dumb idea. You wouldnt want your very loved family member and friend stolen from you would you? I wouldnt and hopefully you wouldnt. I'm sure the owners are worried sick. And when they see that dog again they will be down on their knees crying their hearts out because that dog is so special to them and they thought they would never see him again. After you see their faces and they give you money and say how grateful they are to you, you will never ever want to steel another dog again. And I hope it does.

umm... you do no its bad to steal,
#1- out the dog in yard and put a note that says, i found your dog, and ring doorbell and run
#2-tell them that you stole their dog, and get punished, but feel good about doing the right thing (returning it, not stealing it)
#3- JUST GIVE THEM BACK THEIR DOG OK!!!

How and why would you steel a dog? You should take it back. Does it have a tag? if so, be anonymous and take it back to the house and say you found it loose. You should never do that, that is horrible. If you want a dog, go to the pound and get your own!!!
