It will be here. We might not be though.

You must be more specific when asking this question. Do you mean : Will the species of the world be here for another 100 years? or Will the Earth be here in 100 years?
At the rate at which we are using, or more to the point misusing, our natural resources the human race doesn't have much of a chance. Every species on Earth is symbiotic with one another. What happens to one will effect all. Think about it, if all of the Earth's insects were to cease to exist the mammals, reptiles and arachnids that prey solely on insects would die or have to evolve. The Earth is here for the long geologic haul, but we I'm sorry to say, are not. Sleep well...

The planet has at least another 5 billion years, give or take. Our species will almost certainly still be here, though the population may be decimated. Of course, the only way for everyone to have an American quality of life will be if there's a heck of a lot fewer of us.
The solution to our resource/energy problem lies in population decline. Current estimates are that the planet can support 1 billion people at the average American quality of life. So we need to get our numbers down to that ASAP.

I believe here is the news, from your investment leader. The
population would be sold to the highest bidders in the next
star systems for their very tenacious life styles. The polluters
would be sent to the purgatorial planet in waiting for duties to
the making of precise smoke patterns in metro upgrade moves.
The overburdening species would be miniaturized so they
could afford concert ticket seats. Well at least you know where
they are. Hot item, in Happy Feet 2000 penguins sold their
tuxedos that were specially made for the after party party to
albatross without scuba suits. Now you know that they won't
fly unless the luck is about to change.

Just remember that the same people saying the world is going to end in 10-20 years were saying the same thing 30 years ago...
-we're still here, and doing fine.
Oops: one mistake: 30 years ago, they said all the pollution and cars and industry were going to cause a new Ice Age (and they had scientific proof!) ... now they say it's global warming... give it 10 more years: they'll be back to a new Ice Age again...

Sure the earth will be here. Human too in another 100. After that though our domonion over this planet is going to be iffy. Green house gases, hole in the Ozone, killing off species by the day.
No one is looking at the big picture, just the small ones in iscolation. Sad but true. I think Human's have maybe another 200-300 left before we've extinct ourselves. That is unless changes are made soon

I think the world will be here, and humans too. Throughout history people have beleived they were living in the age of apocolypse. It will be really different tho - the changes in human culture have been greater in the last 100 years than they were in the previous 2,000 years.

yeah, the earth isn't set to explode for another 4 billion years or so, and i think it will be a lot longer than one hundred years before we destroy ourselves.
