Islam originated as most religions have from the middle east.It was established by Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
We are called Muslims because we follow Islam and we live all over the world like normal human beings.

Islam came from Allah(the only God)...like other religions cristianity etc came from Him...Islam is final religion from Him and suitable to all human beings untill day of Judgement...and the only religion to accept by people...it canceled all previous religions and updated all the instructions from Allah about living life...
other religions tell only one two or few aspects of life but islam is the only religion which covers each and every aspect of our life and tell Allah's instructions to spend life...
