I've been seeing a lovely guy for a few months now. He has a 17 year old daughter whom he soon wants me to meet. He said she will probably ask me alot of question like past boyfriends etc. I know this is to be expected but i dont like being put on the spot with questions as i have social anxiety. I am worried i will embarass myself or something. I am also 22 and her dad is 42 so i think we will both be very nervous meeting one another.

Hi, Relax and just be yourself. I would not answer anything I thought was too personal. It is not being rude to not answer. It is rude to ask personal questions, especially about past boyfriends. Sounds like maybe your boyfriend wants to know the answers to those questions. What difference would it make to his daughter? He should teach his daughter better manners and tell her to not be rude instead of trying to prepare you for twenty questions. Just remember you don't have to answer anything you don't want to. A simple, "why do you ask?" usually will stop the inquiry. Good Luck!

You have an item in your arsenal. You are an adult and therefore senior to this teenager. Even her father has no right to ask you about All the Boys You've Loved Before. She DEFINITELY doesn't.

Just smile and tell her you don't know her well enough to discuss such things, but you'd certainly like to work on that.

And good luck :)

Just play it safe. Think about the questions she asks you deeply. If she is (in her mind) hating you already, then she will try and pry secrets out of you.
