If it came down to it and we were in a full out war to save our nation then Yes I'd serve. I come from a military family and would be very proud! Women should serve but not be in the front lines...personal opinion. I think women are capable but shouldn't be on the front lines and I have many reasons.

Having been a civilian and a female Marine, I can understand both view points. Alot of people join not knowing what they are doing and get out after 4 years because they aren't cut out for it. It takes a certain mentality to appreciate the military and it's lifestyle. Having said that, I'm going back in so to answer your question, yes I'd serve, draft or no draft. Call me crazy, but I'm willing to go to Iraq. I don't care why we are there, we are. That's all that counts. If there is an American service person next to me, ship me where ever

I didn't need a draft to serve my country. Personally I have no problem with women in the military and many are serving now in Iraq and Afghanistan right now .
My son is an Army Ranger and went to Iraq.
I personally think the idea of a draft sucks as you get people with no commitment , honor or desire to serve.

As a proud American citizen, I would not hesitate to serve my country. What war is being fought shouldnt matter, once the call of duty is sounded every citizen should answer. I do believe women should be included in the draft, equal rights, equal treatment.
Anyone who runs from serving the country that has served them the most is a coward and should be shot.

Well, I have gone in the Volunteer force. Got Honorably discharged and if my Bum knee could be over looked i would limp all over the front lines:
As for women being drafted that is being looked at. If you can volunteer why not drafted too.

I did my time voluntarily.
I would not go if called because I truly believe that this occupation is illegal and the current administration regards the military as nothing more than cannon fodder to be fed into Iraq until all of a sudden every citizen of Iraq puts aside his or her beliefs and embraces democracy for its own sake. Which will be just about never.

Definitly I would go. I hope that I would join up first though. And no I don't think women should be drafted they shouldn't be made to leave their children etc. to fight. That is the man's responsibility.

If I were drafted, I would go. I would be scared, and feel completely out of my element, but I would go.
I guess it's easier for me to say that because it would be very unlikely that I would have to kill anyone (given that I am a woman). That would be my main reservation. I would do it if I had to, but I would hope to avoid it at all costs.

I would... But ONLY if it was for a good cause.. Not like some crap about defending oil plants.. Maybe defending a position/village... So mainly it would depend on the war, because I rather not have another Vietname, but rather serve for a cause like WWII.
Also I would like to choose my job and have the excellent training for it.. If those request are guaranteed then hell I'll serve for like 2-4 years...
Or maybe if I got drafted I'll just enlist anyways so I can get good or better training...

It would depend on the war.
I would be willing to go to Afghanistan because that war is directly related to our security and more importantly is legal.
I would not be willing to go to Iraq because it is an unlawful war.
I absolutely believe that women should be subject to the draft, though anyone drafted should be screened for combat effectiveness. I wouldn't want a guy who couldn't handle it out there anymore than I'd want a woman who couldn't.
