I went out with a couple of guys that were not too attractive, i try to be open minded and see what else is there...mainly i have found this....attraction is necessary...because there is more passion in the relationship when you are attracted to the other person....as far as feeling bad for them...i would never go out with a person for this reason i think you will feel rotten about yourself more than anything else

I think you should only go out with people you like. In my experience this normally means I feel some attraction towards them -- not necessarily that I think they are the conventionally good looking, but there is chemistry. Going out with someone just because you feel sorry for them cannot really end well unless you think you may start to like him or her. You would be getting their hopes up for nothing. And beyond that, you probably wouldn't feel that great about yourself after -- you would have gone on date with someone you were not into, which can be really uncomfortable, and all the while you'd be aware that you could end up hurting the person, which would make you feel bad even if you don't like them in that way. So...maybe extend the hand of friendship but don't date someone for the wrong reasons.

BUT REMEMBER...if you like someone, and you think they are not attractive in other people's eyes, don't let THAT stop you from dating them. There is only one person who needs to be attracted to the person, and that's you!

My Gosh NO! What would be the point. Think of how that other person would feel unless of course you care about that person and see them as just a friend.
