It was 4months for me. I was best friends with him for 6months before that though. I felt like I loved him, before going out but the only thing holding me back was the fear of letting myself go.

the first time I told my ex I loved him (I said it first to him, he said it 4 months later), was like a week after christmas in december when I was 16 or 17. This was only a month after I admit I liked him and he siad he liked me. We were friends for a good while before hand.

It means a lot more when you get to the part of the relationship where you show that you love eachother rather than just saying it. I've said "I love you" to girls that now wish I hadn't, it was always infatuation and insecurity before. With my wife now, it is the certainty and confidence that it reflects.

i strongly believe in waiting to say those words.....they are very strong and shouldnt be said unless you really mean it....I ussually wait at least a month
