Revelation 12:7
And there was war in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back.

thus michael had his OWN angels in heaven. why did no other angels fight back? where was god and gods angels? this is taking place in heaven the so-called home of god? we can understand the dragon having his angels, had that be your "satan" who took 1/3 of the angels in heaven down with him, then that would explain this. but who is michael to have control over his own angels?

what are your thoughts?

I'd say there is some hierarchy where Michael is in charge of a group of angels, but is answerable to God. Or perhaps to some higher type of angel, if there is such a thing. Putting it a little cheesy...perhaps God is like the king and Michael is the general in charge of his army. At times the king will ride out and lead the army, but other times he commands his generals to do so. Just my thoughts.

Revelation Chapter 12 covers a great span of time. From Satan's first rebellion and the 1/3 that followed, to the end times when he is booted out of heaven to earth. Satan's angels are the tail of the dragon or close folllowers. Right now Micheal is holding Satan and his angels till the sounding of the 6th trump.

Back to the first rebellion. 1/3 were drawn in a net by the dragon's tail or close followers. Some hate everything to do with God. Some were middle of the fence or didn't care. Some were deceived but they love God.

But there was a remnant. God’s elect, they fought and will fight against Satan. They are; justified, predestinated, called, chosen, and faithful.

It helps greatly to read before verse 7 as well, to get the “real” picture. About this war in heaven, God had already separated light from darkness, so where is this heaven and where the war? The teaching that heaven is at hand helps to understand creation and where we are. The war “exists” in a place that is not, but is. In verse 8 you read that the darkness (dragon) does not prevail, and that is because the darkness was separated even before the seeming war commenced. Michael is an obedient servant (angel) and God has given him angels, because in Michael’s obedience, he is God’s reflection, rather than an entity. All things are working to remove the great mist that came over the world in the beginning. Nothing can defeat what already is, was, and will be.

You can say Michael or rather I would say Archangel Michael has angels under His command. From the word Arch = meaning chief or highest and then angel. So Archangel Michael has a position in heaven, He is the Commanding General of the angels in heaven. If you read Revelation, Michael and His angels fought against the dragon it is simply saying that, Michael and the angels under his command fought the dragon. By the way Michael stands for Micah = who is like? El = Elohim. So if you will going to read, Who is like the Elohim? = Michael. If you will answer the question, who is like the Elohim? Only the Son is like the Elohim for He will also lead the angels into battle.

Michael doesn't have his own angels. All of the angels belong to God. He created them. Michael is the archangel of God and the protector of Israel. He is the waring angel of God. If you look at the text, Michael does prevail and the dragon (Satan) is thrown down from heaven with 1/3 of the angels who rebelled against God.

God gave Michael authority to command angels who did not rebel against Him.

Who is Michael, the Archangel? The Bible only mentions one Archangel, Michael. It never says anything about Gabriel of any other angel being an archangel, although other sources outside the scripture refer to this. Instead of guessing who Michael is, why not let scripture interpret itself? Let's compare 1 Thessalonians 4:16 with John 5:25

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first
1 Thessalonians 4:16

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. John 5:25

Whose voice raises the dead? Paul says the archangel. Jesus says that it is His voice. Thus, by comparing text with text we can conclude that the Archangel Michael is none other than Christ. No wonder He is called the Resurrection and the Life. It is His voice that raises the dead. Now I believe you can see why it was Michael and His angels that fought with Satan and his angels.

Michael's angels were God's angels, all of them. Satan's angels were 1 third of all the angels.
So satan had 1 third of all the angels to fight against all the rest of the angels. they were only called Michael's angels because they fight with michael , for God.

Michael is an archangel (Jude 1:9). This is like saying a general, he is still under God but of higher position than an ordinary angel. Therefore, Michael's angels are still under God and fight on His behalf.

Michael, the Archangel was the first created angel (so that was why archangel). He is said to be Jesus also, since God made Jesus the King in heaven, he lead the army of angels (who are God's remaining loyal angels too) to battle with Satan and his minions.

In any army there is a command structure,
the angel Michael has a higher rank than the other angels.
