Something is wrong with the camera. it is a nicon coolpix 7600 ...when I go to the setup screen everything is fine but as soon as I try and turn the camera part on..it says batteries are exhausted. I have tried brand new batteries and it still does not work. Some one told me that if i update the firmware it might fix it
do you know what i can do to fix this problem other than firmware upgrade?

If you are using alkaline batteries, that may be the problem. Try using high capacity rechargeable NiMH batteries.

Not trying to be funny here - but make sure the new batteries are not in upside down. Without my glass I can never tell which way to put them in. The + and - indicators on black plastic are a pain. More then once I have installed at least 1 battery in wrong on different cameras. Carl

No, Walmart do no longer do any restoration in any respect. no longer even you purchase the prolonged guarantee from them. All new product guarantee is so call production unit Direct guarantee, which potential the producer is to blame for the guaranty, and you will ought to deal in the present day with the producer no longer the shop. the only time that a shop is to blame for the guaranty is the prolonged verify which you purchase from them. even nevertheless, the prolonged guarantee start up the 2nd you pay for the reliable which run area via area of the generating unit guarantee. So in short answer: basically purchase yet another one and neglect with regard to the old one.

Have you left batteries in for an extended time? If so, they might have leaked battery acid onto the battery contacts in your camera. Take out the batteries and check to see if the contacts are clean. You can clean them easily with a pencil eraser.
