Why not cover the origin of paper?

I would start with a replica of Egyptian papyrus and also mention how the Chinese invented paper as well as the art of paperfolding first, but the Japanese made it famous.

You could also show some examples of how paper and printing has influenced history, i.e., a copy of the Bible and how widespread Christianity is today, or how the Declaration of Independence is preserved and studied around the world, even in China where dissidents currently fight for democracy.

I don't know if you have ever tried origami, or folding a paper crane. But there is an interesting story about a young Japanese girl who made the crane famous as a symbol of world peace, following her death from leukemia after the Hiroshima bombing.

So those are a few examples of some interesting visuals you could bring.

Not quite sure how Babe Ruth relates to world history, but that's not your project so that doesn't matter.
Take a look around your home -- has anyone in your family ever travelled anywhere and brought back a souvenir? You could use that as the basis for your project, and tell something about the history of that country, or compare how easily your parents got to that country today in relation to how difficult it was to travel there say in the 1800s. Was your grandpa or your uncle or anyone in your family in the military? If they could loan you any kind of an artifact from that, you could certainly do a good world history project on whatever war they fought in.
hope this helps.

there was once a bible that a soldier during wwII had in his coat pocket and was shot directly where his pocket was and the bible stopped the bullet. This will be a great choice if your school isn't to particular about religion in schools seeing as how it isn't really preaching, it should be ok as long as you check first. good luck!

both your questions cover manyb topics in nworld historic previous. Assuming that you're reading "international haitory" in college, has your instructor heavily no longer given you a steer on any of those topics? If no longer, shame on your instructor.

Was anyone in your family in the military. A medal or bit of uniform would be good.

You could take a string of beads and say that they were the beads traded in exchange for the island of Manhattan.

How about a vase. Get some piece of crap and paint it orange and black and you can pretend it's from ancient Greece.
