Won't know until you try it. I can tell you this, Effexor can have the worst withdrawals of any antidepressant. For that reason alone, I suggest that you go with Cymbalta first. If it doesn't work, it'll be easier to stop and give Effexor a try. I also hope that you've already tried a few SSRIs first. If not, seriously consider seeing a different doc. SNRIs are the heavy hitters in the anti-d world. No point swatting a fly with a wrecking ball.

Yes, absolutely. It is one of it's primary functions. When it comes to medications, I like to go to the horse's mouth. I've included a link the the "prescribing information" that Dr.'s us when evaluating different medications...
You don't have to read the whole thing... like the molecular structure, etc... but it will tell you its primary uses...
And if the Klonopin does not work, there are a number of other medications in the same family that do the same thing.
Hope this helps...

Yes, it is actually very common for Klonopin to be given to people with panic or anxiety disorders. I have had it myself in the past, and as long as the doctors adjusted it right and kept tabs on me, it worked wonderfully. Good luck.
