I'm 54 n not fat. I have no wrinkles on my face. I feel that my face is fat n so I have kept my hair shoulder length. My question is when a woman gets to a certain age--is there a certain length she should wear to make her younger looking?

I think usually when a woman gets older she has about had it with spending so much time taking care of her hair and just wears it short. She finds better things to do with her time.

Everyone is different. If you are more comfortable with shoulder length hair then keep it that way. Maybe add some highlights or color if you feel the need for a change, or some layers.
Good luck!

My mother is around your age, and her hair is around shoulder length. It looks good. But, if you're bored with your current hairstyle, try cutting it short. With bangs that curl around your face. I don't exactly know how to expain it. But it still is long enough to put into a ponytail, but there's no hair falling on your shoulders or anything. Sorry!

i think it wont really matter how long your hair is but my aunt is the same way her face is a little round so she keeps her hair below shoulder length to make her face look not as roundish but she only 35 but she looks 25 so it works for her and it might work for you too.
try it wont hurt either hair is just hair it will grow back!

Not in my opinion. The mmost flattering hairstyle for older women is the same as that for women of any age; the one that best suits the shape of her face and her personality. My mother shaved her head when she turned 60.

Splurge on a swanky salon visit and trust your stylist's advice.

It depends on the woman, really. A sleek bob will make most women look younger, which is probably why so many are sporting them right now.

YES! I definetly believe that once you've hit 50, it needs to be kept short and stylish.
Go to a really good hairdresser get a good stylish cut and maybe put some highlights in it.
Don't let your hair go grey. Always keep it nice and colorful and shiny!

erm i think shoulder length is all round good, its not too long but its not really short, I tend to think people with longer hair look younger and you can do more with it, hope this helps,x

It depends alot on the length and shape of your face. Consult with a trusted stylist. They should be able to help you make a decision. I have struggled with that one lately. You have my sympathies!

I see a lot of older people with short hair and wonder why they don't grow it out. Is it graying yet? I think silver long hair is really pretty!!! Do what makes you feel beautiful.
