They don't? Please talk to my daughter for me and let her in on that secret, she wont listen to me!!! :)
With most teenagers, life revolves around them and whats going on in their lives right now. They dont see the bigger picture. I was like that to when I was a teen. What a shock it was when I realized I was wrong!

Why do Adluts think us teens don't know anything? You was a teen yourself once think back. We may not know everything but we do know sometings and when you tell us we don't know anything of cores we are going to agure back. Adluts are always telling us that we don't know what goes on in the real world. My question is sence when is there two worlds? There is only one world and it's the real world. We do see whats going on we may not understaind it all but we understaind some of it we may not be out there doing what you guys have to do but we are working hard ( well some of us are ) in school to get there we are smarter then you think. Now I'm not saying we know it all because no one knows it all but god.

Back when you were a kid, you did too! Kids always think that everyone is constantly watching them, which is why so many are concerned about image. Everything is so big and new and some things are even embarassing; some teens will feel distant from their parents, since they're CERTAIN that NO ONE (especially their parents) have ever gone through what they're going through. It's a normal, natural I-need-to-find-things-out-for-myself period when your teen needs you to be able to be real with them. Talk to him or her; show them you can relate to what they're going through. Most of all be supportive and listen. I think we all remember feeling like our parents could never have done/experienced anything we've gone through. Just be patient and, most of all, be there for your teen. He or she is still our baby (just don't make them feel like it, or they'll certainly never open up about their lives!)
Did you know that most teens will seek the advice/friendship from an adult that thy trust not to be judgemental? I can't tell you how many kids come asking me for advice or sharing personal things with me simply because I won't judge the for it (like they think a parent will). Just try listening and spending time with them. They'll be out of the house before you know it. Good luck

I have a good friend that once said that it's like God comes down and removes their brain from the time they hit puberty until they turn 27.
I have a 15 yr old son that is a smart kid but doesn't have the common sense to beat himself out of a wet paper bag. He's gifted but I wouldn't trust him with a power tool in his hand!..
It's like their is a disconnect between the judgement region of the brain and intellect region.. AND man I can relate.

Teens are at the height of their adolescence. They think that they know all. They also think that they are invincible. Teens don't think ahead, they just think right now. And right now, they know everything because they no nothing else.

As like colleen,I am also a teen of 14 years old and I don't think I know everything.Really,i'm frustrated with all the things I don't know! I mean, everyone wants to be intelligent but that's normal.Just because your teenager thinks he/she knows it all doesn't mean every teenager in this world is like that.I'm just at a point of discovery in my life trying to figure out who I am and who I want to be and I have a feeling it's going to take awhile,so it's making me anxious. So please don't be a stereotype and try to say all teenagers think they know it all. That's like saying all adults are smart-it's just not true!

because they have only experienced a small piece of life and fail to yet see the whole picture and realize what life is like in the real world. so as far as they know than they do know everything. that's why as you get older and get taught life lessons you grow out of that faze

I think it's because they are at an age where they are learning so much. Things about themsleves, about life, about other people. They think that they have the answer for everything, even though it is usually wrong.
Plus, the thought of them knowing everything makes them feel more grown up.
They usually grow out of this around 18-20, when they sudenly realize they don't know ****.
