I mean seriously? God made dirt, but do we eat it? God made pine cones so should we smoke it? I just find it a little ridiculous that pot heads use this excuse. I think he did make it for a purpose, but not to abuse. Our body is our temple right?

Tis a foolhearty argument. It reminds me of a kid eating something hes not supposed to in the frig when their parents arent watching only to get caught later and give the excuse "well it was there."

The existence of something does not preclude that it should be consumed nor used. What am I going to tell the judge if I shot someone to death? "Well uh I had the gun, it was there so I used it." Somehow I doubt the judge is going to let me off and go hunting after the gun manufacturers.

Fireball... no one is Blaming God... geez

In this case it's more of a point that people misunderstand the use, even recreational. Too many compare it to those who abuse cocaine, heroine, etc. Yet no medical field, nor the Gov't, who made it illegal, does this.

I can agree with the abuse point, but then you would have to determine exactly what is abuse. Studies show it's not addictive in the same sense Caffiene is addictive or smoking cigarettes. It has been shown to help Cancer patients, those with depression, etc. As for the body being a temple, I suppose you mean not to pollute your body with mind altering substances, yet Coca Cola does that very thing. Cigarettes do as well. So does coffee. Even certain foods do these things. Legal herbs do it as well, such as Lavender. I think why most people try to put such a bad rep on this drug is the fact that it is illegal. If it wasn't illegal, I'm betting people would see it like they see cigarettes or soft drinks.

Obviously it's always one extreme to the other.

BTW, George Washington used to grow it. So did many others who were in power at that time. It was not viewed in the same light as it is today. In fact, many used it to relieve stress and did so on a daily basis.

Well, you know, just as not all people who drink are alcoholics...not all people who smoke pot are "potheads." I'm an atheist so I would never use that to prove a point. And why don't you ask the same question about alcohol? People who drink are putting a strong chemical substance (i.e. a drug) into their bodies...just because it comes in liquid form and some fancy label is on the bottle, doesn't mean it's not a drug. Why is the drug called alcohol okay, but not the drug called marijuana...I can't tolerate alcohol....an allergy, and more recently, diabetes...so allow me my way of altering my consciousness while you can suck on your liquor bottles and beer cans all you want. Just don't be hypocritical about it.

They make no sense, b/c all of their brain cells are fried. Although alcohol and tobacco are bad for you, it doesn't mean we should legalize something else that is bad for you. Alcohol and tobacoo are part of our society for better or worse, that doesn't mean we should allow more things in our society that can harm us. If people want to smoke, fine, let them smoke, but don't legalize it. If it is legalized a lot more young kids will try it, before they are responsable enough to handle it. Also, most drugs are natural, why doesn't anybody argue for those drugs, like:shrooms or opium. Those are natural, but nobody argues for them.

It is true God did make marijuana and it has good purposes for healing and it is man that take things and abuse it for their benefit. Pot heads as you call them are only stating the truth like all others that turn the natural use of the things of God for their own benefits.

The point is that this is a naturally occuring substance that does no particular harm, and what little harm it DOES do is less than the harm caused by legal substances like alcohol and tobacco. They are pointing out a hypocrisy in the law, and they are correct. If you can justify tobacco/alcohol use, then its impossible to condemn use of marijuana.

I don't get that. Pot is non-addictive, where Cocaine, Heroin, Alcohol, Cigarettes, Etc...are. If I smoke a joint and drive, I'm cool.(I might be slow getting there, but...) But if I drink a sixpack and drive, I take a chance of either killing somebody or going to jail. And I agree that our body is our temple. (Don't tell the Athiests that! They might argue with you...)

yes.. but smokeing pot also relieves chronic pain, so if you do not abuse it, I dont see the harm. Now if one is out spending all their money on it and not feeding their family thats a problem. but if someone is in pain and would rather not pop a pain pill I do not see the harm. Plus God is most merciful and knows we all make mistakes

I know people that do eat dirt, so then is that wrong too? if someone wants to smoke a pinecone, is that really your concern? people are going to do whatever they want, if you approve or not. in the end, we are here to please GOD and no one else. so who cares what you think?
