He said that he only liked her as a friend and my best friend said that she wouldn't date him because she said that there was something about him that she didn't like. Is he just trying to see how I react? Could he still have feelings for me or is he just trying to figure me out? Do guys always do that?

He's getting a rise out of you. It's the whole "male ego thing" where the ex has to be a d!ck to show his contempt for you. And, though he may not like you, he's probably doing it because he still likes you (or if not you, then the part of you that he remembers getting along so well with when you two were going out).

dont wry bout it hes just messin wit ur head alil 2 c if u still hav feelings for him just act lik its nuthin n if ur best friend is flirtin bac wit him n she knos dat u still lik him then shes just either makin u jealous or shes doesnt care bout ur feelings
