Go to the pharmacy and ask the pharmacist to recommend some ear drops which will help the pain until you can get to your doctor for an antibiotic. I think Advil works better for the pain. Hope you feel better soon.

It is crazy that I just found this, I have been complaining of an earache all day.

I took some Aleve earlier and it didn't last 8 hours, because they are hurting right now.

I don't know what to do except go to the doctor and see if it is infected. He will probably prescribe antibiotics. Or you could try what Susan S. said and go to the pharmacist.

I just found this on yahoo search and i think I am going to try it.

All depends on you.

You're going to have to go to a doctor. The longer you put it off, the longer you'll be in pain. You may have an ear infection, either middle ear or outer ear infection, which both take different types of medications. Either way, spend the money and go see a doctor, that way you'll start feeling better sooner. I'm sure if you don't, it'll only get worse in time. Best of luck to you.

You're going to have to go to the doctor, and get antibiotics. In the meantime, continue with the Advil, and try a hot water bottle. I sympathize with you, it's very painful.

take Dimetapp ( found at local drugstores) to decrease the fluid buildup behind the eardrum until you can see your MD
take Aspirin for the pain ( will not cause live damage)
