Apparently (on the Yahoo headlines), the girl that plays Mary shares "striking resemblances" with the early life of the real Mary, including..... (wait for it...)...... teen pregnancy!!! WOW! OMG! This must PROVE the existence of God! Like, OMG, a teenage girl is pregnant!! Its a freakin miracle!!!!
Must be a slow news day when a craptastic made up story like that becomes headline news.... No need to worry about the war in Iraq, the madman in North Korea or the other madman in Israel - we have the Nativity Story coming to a theatre near you!!
Doesnt anyone realize that the story of Jesus' early life was of absolutely no importance to anyone until 300+ years after his death, when they VOTED on the virgin birth and on whether or not he was God?? The entire story was made up - pilfered from the myths and legends of Mithras, who was also born a virgin and died and was ressurrected after spending three days in a cave tomb!!! But hey - who needs real history, right??

Why is it that those that are so absolutist in their ideology refuse to allow you to contact them via email? Id love to share with "IN Atlanta" the history of the Council of Nicea where Jesus' divinity was INDEED voted upon, as was Mary's virgin birth. But again - who needs real history when we can just say "Youre wrong" and let that be the end all of arguments?

its a publicity stunt to compare the two and to make sure that she is not looked down upon. I personally don't care what the girl does. she is a regular person that got pregnant. difference is, she could make many religious people not watch it and hurt budget because she is a teen that got pregnant. whats the plan to save the movie.... she is just like Mary. like i said... it doesnt effect me in any way, shape or form. will i see the movie? who knows. will it be because of this stunt, not likely.

If i subscribed to a religion which believed in the virgin birth I would be offended by them trying to compare this pregnant girl to Mary but since i am not I mostly think it is a stupid publicity tactic to publicize her pregnancy that way and then what a rotten example to set when there is such a problem with teen pregnancy in girls who aren't paid $$$ for making a movie and can barely scrape by.

Most of your description of Mithra is purely fiction and only recently attributed to him, and more for the purpose of undermining Christianity than anything else I suspect.'
For instance, Mithra was not born of a virgin... he was supposedly born from a rock. He had no human mother at all.
Most of what similarities there may be between mithraism and Christianity are as easily attibutable to devotees of Mithra borrowing from Christianity as the other way around.
Do your homework.

Love the commentary on the taking of the story of ressurection,it's actually a story that goes as far back as the Cainaanites with Baal who supposedly also rose from the dead,a fact thay celebrated every year for some time. It's been used in many religions and usually started as some ceremony to the concept of the rebirth of Earth when growing seasons began again. But please don't tell the Christians they really can't handle it,it's hard for them to keep all their mytths straight while being bludgeoned with the truth.

Actually most your facts about the 300 years is incorrect all the original new testiment texts were written by the apostles within the timeframe of their lives, which means they were eye witnesses to what Jesus did.
Perhaps more research on your part eh?

if you really know your history, you'd know she was 18...
carbon dating of her bones proves it!
but think about the culture of the times...
how old was romeo and juliet???
if it was true... so what...average life span in those days was like 40 years old

Oh yes you do sound bitter. BITTER AND JEALOUS THAT A BEAUTIFUL, TRUE AND BLESSED EVENT IN HISTORY MADE IT TO HOLLYWOOD, to knock out one of your unholy, amoral and utterly false movies. One up for hollywood, this time.
And, oh, I'm mocking YOU!

so what/ she was horney, she did it, of course she didn't use a condom, and she got prego. then she wwent to do her algebra homework.
helooo she probably lives with her parents and they allow her to have a boyfriend. then she and him quietly retieated to her room, like married adults, and did the horizontal polka. cause what's a fifteen year old to do these days? hey, she was cold. maybe he wanted to hold her and you know how fifteen year olds are. one thing lead to another. it's perfectly normal. fifteen year olds do that all the time. they come home from school and have sex. cause if feels good
