You should not pop it, that may cause the little clusters of blisters to multiply. If it is already a visible blister, there not much you can do, at this point you just want to dry it out as soon as possible. Use products like Campho-phenique, Zilactin ( liquid), these things will help it dry out and go away. Your best bet is to keep these kind of products on hand so that when you notice a blister next time, you can dry it out before it fully becomes a blister. You can use products like Abreva (over the counter) or Valtrex (prescription) to treat a cold sore when it first starts to tingle. Doing that will prevent it from getting too big and ugly. Valtrex is usually prescribed for genital herpes, but doctors will prescribe it for (Herpes simplex1) cold sores if you have reoccurring issues.
with them.
Remember that these are really very contagious and once you get them, you have them forever! No kissing, no sharing food or drinks, toothbrushes and so on while you have an outnreak. Also, no oral sex when you have a cold sore because this can cause your partner to have genital herpes. Nobody wants a gift that keeps on giving :(
Good luck!!
I know it sucks!!

Go to Walgreens and buy a product called "Abreva." It is a very small tube, and a little pricey. You can ask the pharmacist where they keep it. You only need a tiny amount, and works. I have a daughter who is prone to cold sores in winter. It works really fast. It's worth the higher price.

take 1500 mgs of L-Lysine 3 or 4 or 5 times a day inbetween meals. Keep it around. I start taking it when my lip gets itchy and avoid the cold sore. nothing else works as well. i had scripts even.

Do not pop it, it will just leave a big nasty scab. Go to the store and get some Abreva.

Abreva or Camphophenique, both work, but especially when you first start to feel it. Take Lysine, an amino acid, and boost your immune system with echincia and goldenseal.

Camphophenique is a wonder drug for this problem. In my experience, when I use campho, my cold sore is gone in 24hrs to a couple days.

Abreva works really good, but it is expensive (about $10). Campho-phenique is also really good, but less expensive (about $4 per tube).
