My girlfriend dyed my hair black earlier this week, and my father doesn't approve of it. He thinks I'm a satanist, or I resemble one now. So in order to lift my grounding, I need to dye it back or a lighter color. In order to get the black out I need to bleach it, but how much damage will bleaching do? My hair is shiney, healthy. It was only dyed once, by my girlfriend. It's practically passed my shoulders, but people have always said that long hair looks better on me than short hair.

I plan on bleaching it, and then dyeing it a medium blonde.

What can I expect?

Thanks

Do not bleach your hair yourself. Black dye is very hard to remove. If you bleach it, chances are it will not be an even color...your hair will be a mix of red, blond, and black. Bleach damages hair pretty bad. Your hair will be dry and brittle, or, even worse, it may become yellow and "sticky" and impossible to comb.

I've been there. It has taken seven bleach jobs, numerous bottles of heavy conditioner, cholesterol, hot oil, toner, dye, and two drastic hair cuts to remove the black dye and get my hair back in condition.

Try washing your hair with a "strong" shampoo, like Prell. It could remove some of the dye, so you can dye it a lighter, *brown* shade. If that doesn't work, see a professional. It will be costly, but way better than risking it yourself.

nicely, regrettably there is not any speedy restoration, your hair's been broken, all you're able to do it watch for it to advance out. you may positioned a toner/wash out shade over the precise in case you opt to cover up the ginger, decide for a mid brown semi everlasting dye, ideally a organic one as this would possibly not reason to any extent further injury. All you're able to do is deal at the same time with your now distressed hair with some mushy loving care, attempt to maintain blow-drying and straightening to a bare minimum. purchase an in intensity repairing conditioner, anybody will do and comb via freshly washed damp hair with an excellent toothed comb, then wrap a moist heat towel around your hair and go away on for 0.5 an hour, this could help the conditioner to penetrate deep into the hair and make it look in extra effective project. Olive oil is likewise quite nourishing for the hair, you will desire to do comparable to I only defined yet with Olive oil in case you like, you will would desire to shampoo a pair of cases to verify it is all rinsed out nevertheless. whilst my hair's been relatively dry previously I honestly have left Conditioner on all night and rinsed it out interior the morning. If it is breaking off plenty then only attempt to no longer touch it too plenty. sturdy luck and that i desire you like my concepts :)

Going from Black to Blonde might turn it Green, I would definitely go to a Professional if possible. Bleaching ruins the elacticity in your hair and therefore it gets brittle and can break off easier. Let me know how it turns out, if possible!

Bleaching hair does make it dry and coarse. As long as you keep using a good conditioner your hair should be just fine.
