When my lips get really chapped I've used Corona Pet Salve. It works really well. Mary Kay makes a lip mask that works really well for sloughing off the dry skin on your lips. It helps. I don't think it costs very much.

I personally am allergic to petroleum based products like Chapstick. So, to help currently chapped lips I look instead for other Chapstick like products without petroleum in them. Beeswax is a good substitute.
To prevent chapped lips, drink lots of water all the time, water with nothing else in it. Cover the mouth with a scarf when in cold weather. Keep your bedroom at night a little more humid with a humidifier or open window and try to make your sleep area breeze-free. Use skin products with sunblock, even lip-skin products. ry not to face directly into the sun and th wind if you can at all help it. Proper nutrition always helps. Try not to get too much mouthwash on your actual lips. Trim facial hair to a length where it is not touching the pink or dark brown lip skin. Lipsticks can help protect. Refrain from licking them lips (saliva has slow digestive qualities). Kiss nicely...lip health can be transferred. Try to cut down on salty snacks and try to refrain from salt or sugar touching the lips.

Vaseline. Put it on all day and through the night if you wake up. And when you get your lips healed, put on chap stick constantly, even when you don't feel you need to. This will prevent that from happening again. And don't lick your lips.

Try some Carmex - it comes in a little white tub with a yellow lid. Blistex medicated also works. Also there is a product out called "Burt's Bees." It comes in lip balm and a type of lipstick. Feels a little mentholly, but does work well.

Just use lip gloss if your a girl. A good way to prevent chapped lips is to keep nasty tasting lip gloss on all the time. Never leave home with out it. always keep something on them that looks okay but tastes nasty.

Coat them with vasoline at night, and use a good lip moisturizer during the day. Stop licking your lips... It's the worse thing you can do for them.
