1. His mom.
OK. Here's a riddle. 3 traveling salesmen met in a bar, and decided to share a hotel room for the night in order to save money. They go to the local hotel and ask the manager how much the room costs. He says "$30.00" So each salesman takes out a 10 dollar bill and they put their money together to pay for the room.
Once they get into their room, the manager thinks to himself "I should give these guys a discount, so they'll come back to my hotel every time they're in town." So he hands five $1 bills to the bellboy and instructs him to go to the salesmen's room and give it to them.
The bellboy is walking down the hall and decides that the salesmen will never catch on if he were to take a cut out of the $5, so he pockets two of the dollars and only gives the salesmen $3 instead of 5.
So, now that each salesman has been given 1 dollar back, they essentially paid $9 each for their rooms instead of $10, correct?
Multiply $9 times 3 (number of salesmen) and you get $27... The bellboy only kept $2 for himself.
$27 plus $2 only equals $29... SO... Where'd the other dollar go?
