My favorite candle this time of year is Christmas Tree. You don't have to put up a real tree to get the fragrant scent of a freshly chopped fir. This candle will stay green, keep its needles, and provide your home with long lasting woodsy aromas. It's like bringing the entire forest indoors. I buy it online from Common Scents Gifts. They sell only 100% soybean candles which are soot-free & keep your home much cleaner. They emit no toxins and are healthier to breathe than paraffin candles which contain a petroleum by-product.

Molly's Soybean candles have a strong smell, but they can only be purchased online (do a search on yahoo.com).
Also, Yankee Candle have a huge selection of candles that smell great...I recommend Misdummer Night, Fresh Linen and Mistletoe.
Also, Glade candles are probably the most affordable candles that smell great and fill a room with their scent.

I got a Lilac candle made by the White Barn Candle Co. (from Bath and Body Works) for my bathroom, which is so strong, I can't even burn it long enough to melt the whole top layer before I'm overwhelmed. It's a nice smell, but wow. The smell has declined a little bit since I've left the top off (it has a sealed lid) but it still burns pretty fragrant.

You will thank me for this later. Tyler Candles are the strongest smelling candles ever, they are unbelievable, I can only burn them a few hours and I have to put them out, the house smells for days afterwards. Yankee Candles are widely available and strong smelling too but expensive and they smoke/smoulder. I don't buy them anymore. I know soy candles are supposed to be better, a clean burn, better for the air and environment, but I've not had good luck finding really strong smelling ones.
The best prices for Tyler candles are here:

Their specialty is unique scents, almost like perfume.

Honestly I Love Bath and Body Works Candles. I have a thing for sweet Pea, and they work really well. They also have wall plug ins with the scent that you choose. I can smell them instantly.
Also I heard the new glade candles work pretty well. Smells like Homemade Pie, and other sorts.

gold canyon candles - birthday cake and sugar cookie. Also love ginger lime and pomegranate.
Go to www.goldcanyon.com and search for a rep in your area. They last forever and smell for a day or two even after you blow it out :)
