No, if we were perfect it would make the sacrifice of Christ irrelevant. That is what Christianity is about, the realization we sin and make mistakes and the mercy of God. It is unfortunate people expect you to be perfect. I experience the same thing, and usually by unreligious or non-Christians. They think I should be perfect because I believe the way I do. However, the reason I can make mistakes is because I believe in something. Good luck.

Non-Christians expect Christians to not make mistakes. The reason for that may be because they see us answering to God and therefore should get all things right every time. The truth is they probably have had some bad examples of Christians cross their paths at some point in their lives. I suggest you keep on going the way you believe Christ would have live and not worry too much about others perceptions. We are all human and will make mistakes that, after all, is the whole reason we needed Jesus as Savior.

A hypocrite is one who says one thing and repeatedly does something else. You can't be holy one day and evil tomorrow. We are human. We are NOT perfect beings. We strive to be righteous through Jesus Christ. When you say "enjoy life" what do you mean? Are you operating in a holiness; living righteous? Or, are you doing everything that feels right to the flesh? If you are just satisfying your flesh and you think that living the "world's way" and God's way is ok then yes that's considered hypocriticial. That's where I think it comes from.

This should only be said if you have been judging others. If you judge others then do bad yourself, you're a hypocrite. If you believe your religion makes you better than anyone else, you're a hypocrite.
But if you're one of the many nonjudgemental, nice Christians, people should get to know you before they make assertions like that...

human beings call Christians hypocrites because they do the very issues that they continuously carry forth adversarial to and condemn different to hell for. Atheists do not carry forth adversarial to at least something so I don;t recognize how they could properly be considered hypocrites. putting forward "oh god" or "hell" is purely making use of a figure of speech - it has no better meaning than in case you stated "holy s hit"...

Yes we are human, yes we make mistakes, we are not perfect. It is not up to other Christians to judge you. (Ive had people say the same things to me as well). Your relationship with God is between Him and You, ONLY!
Countless times I have been called into judgment by other Christians, and I just tell em, God and I have it all worked out, so they can take it somewhere else, neither He nor I are listening.

The problem comes as many people - not neccesarily you - become overly "preacher" and develop the "holier than thou" complex which really irritates everyone else. It's a good balanceing point when the halo slips.
It's like watching the trapeze artist, you admire her skills, but you'd be much happier if she fell off just to stop her showing off.

I think it's only when you harshly judge others for things you do yourself that you're a hypocrite. The simple solution to that is to not judge others. Then you're free and clear to screw up and be human. It's when you insist you have the moral high ground when you clearly don't that it becomes a problem.

True Christians don't use God's name in vain and they don't judge people. Fake Christians are hypocrites.

no, we are no,t but it's kinda like being the president or a docotor. for some reason society has deemed it a crime if we make a mistake.
it is something you have to learn to deal with. studying about GOd' grace will help with the guilt of not being perfect. studying about God'slove will really help wiht that. you'll forgive yoruself and others of a lot more.
