WHERE WOULD YOU CAP IT? HIBS,HEARTS ETC WOULD WANT IT CAPPED AT SAY 5 GRAND,CELTIC ETC WOULD WANT IT CAPPED AT SAY 15-20 GRAND, NO BIG WAGES =NO BIG PLAYERS= LESS FANS=LESS REVENUE. I SAY KEEP IT OPEN.

Yeah they should but the problem is do all leagues have the same salary cap.

For example, a cap of £50,000 would still see more Scottish players going to England because they can afford to pay those wages.

It would see more foreign players going to Germany, Italy and Spain because they get paid better.

If they give different league different caps to stop Scottish clubs getting into debt, it still would not work for the same reasons.

What they should do is get rid of the bosman.

Consider having a draft system (on the wall about that)

And finally get rid of agents, if a player is to stupid to talk to the club, tough grow some balls.

If a player is to busy posing for an advert it shows very little loyalty towards the club and there love for themself and money.

I think the salary cap is still a good idea though, It would help the national team and maybe get real Celtic, Rangers, Hibs, Dundee etc fans (with talent) on the park.

The only problem is how to go about it while Scottish football faces near bankrucy... there you go I can't spell either lol

I totally agree with you something needs to be done as it is the fans that are ultimately paying these obscene wages i mean the ticket prices are ridiculous these days and how can somebody like beckham for an example be on more money then a doctor or nurse who save life's i love football but i think all the money is ruining the game for the fans but nice work if you can get it lol the players should have a basic wage of say hundred grand a year and get bonuses when they win score clean sheet etc and also get money docked if they are seen to be diving or cheating or get sent off make the players work for there money and then they will want to play better so the fans get better value

If footballers wages were capped, the better players would move abroad and clubs would then experience a significant fall in revenue as TV stations concentrated on foreign games.
The market will ultimately match wages with the amount of money that fans directly and indirectly put into the game.

no, fans should stop paying the teams enough to pay those outsize salaries. if wages are capped, what's going to happen, the players who are good enough (the top players) will go somewhere else where wages aren't capped, and local teams will suffer the wrath of the fans, because now the teams aren't as good, nor as exciting to watch. now, for all of those who want to watch their favorite players once in a while on tv, instead of however many times a season in person and on local tv broadcasts, this is the perfect plan. thos of you who don't demand huge salaries fom your employers are (no offense, it's true for me too) obviously not good enough to have that kind of leverage

Maybe it would work with the smaller clubs. However, i don't think that would be the case at Celtic or Rangers. It would limit the players that would be available to commit to both clubs. As much as i like the British influence at the club(Sutton,Hartson and Thomson) etc. i still think to influence other Europeans you have to have the incentive ofa high wage structure. It's the only way to attract quality players.

Looking closely at England's recent performances, I think we should all be capped. Anything to keep Fat Frank out of the team.

Absolutely! I'm talented in my field of work but I certainly don't demand outrageous amounts of money from my employer!
