Not really but it does have its risks. 3 small incision are made in the persons lower right quadrant and like one person said they take it out using a laparoscopy. The surgery itself takes about 2 hours. You will be kept in the hospital for about 2 days then you can go home.

Not really but you will have to take the ill person quickly in the hospital.
Doctors put me to sleep during my surgery. They make a small cut in the right part of your abdomen, about 3 cm. Stay in the hospital for 2 days for recovery and after a week you are new again.
Don't delay for this surgery as the appendex can rupture and the surgery will be major.

Anytime someone has to go under it is major. Especially with an appendicitis because it is an infected organ.

If left untreated, it could become a major operation, and can be dangerous. These days it's a simple operation, using a scope....if it's simple appendicitis. Best of luck to you.

No the majority of the time it is done Laproscopicaly, unless that the appendix has ruptured and there are complications with that.
but basically it isnt a major operation. With the laproscope the recovery is much quicker.

I've always understood it as a pretty routine and somewhat minor surgery.
