I've been in a long distance relationship for nearly 2 years (my 1st boyfriend).we r an hour away and see each other every weekend (b/c i drive there to stay with him), we talk on the phone at least a few times everyday. He is finishing his undergraduate degree; i work full time.having a long distance relationship is extremely difficult; especially since i want to be with him so much.i've offered to move closer to him, but he says don't just go for him, make sure i would have a good job too.now i am deciding to go to graduate school which would move me two hours away from him.i've asked if he would come with me, but he says that when he graduates in May he will be looking for a good job probably out of state.i've told him that it is so hard having a long distance relationship, and since it will only get more difficult with more distance that probably we should break up.he says we can work things out even through the distance b/c we love each other.what should i do?

How long have you been together? From my experience long distance relationships typically dont work but it really matters how far apart you are from eachother and how much you love eachother. Is there trust in the relationship? If you can join her in her city then i would if I really cared about her and about holding the relationship together. Because you may be far away and not be able to see eachother often that can cause stress in relationships. They need a lot of time and effort and if the distance prohibits you from doing that it prob wont work

Rayne, have patience. He's completing his degree in a few years (less than 3 yr, rite?).

I know it's hard, I've been there, too. My wife and I were having a long distance relationship for more than 5 yrs when I studied overseas. To meet her, I have to fly back a 9 hrs flight (that's one way). I could only afford it once a year during summer break.

I must admit those were tough times for both of us. The only communication device available back then was a telephone. No internet, no chatting (mIRC became famous only a year after I completed my course). And my wife didn't have email, it wasn't that common back then. You can imagine how big were my phone bills every month.

But now we are married and we are expecting our third kid. Those years of waiting and patience finally pays off, and became a sweet statue of how strong our bond of love is.

Many long-distance relationships fail because of inpatience. Then, be patience.

Good luck to you and your BF !!!

He is playing you.

yes long distance is hard but you need to ask your self do you do all the driving?? and if he wants the relation ship why would he move out of state??

sounds like he is a guy who has a girl friend in every town if he could get away with it and he is.
