I am 18 years of age with my own car, living in Pennsylvania. I would like to get to Minnesota and after looking at airline/bus/train tickets, it can be rather expensive. I was just curious if it is at all possible to get there and back in under $300. I know, I know. You probably think I am crazy but I thought I'd just ask and maybe some of the traveling gurus out there may know something that I don't.

Any help is appreciated.

Hmm, perhaps it would help if I post when I plan to travel. Ideally, I would like to travel there and back in the first and second week of January. However, if that doesn't work out then I would like to travel between March 10th and March 18th

Depends on when you're traveling.. but American Airlines is usually a lot cheaper than other airlines... I've gotten round trip tickets for about 350 dollars to and from the midwest and arizona/california in the past, and sometimes they have round trip airline tickets at $300. I've seen less than 300 sometimes too, if you book it far enough in advance.

Travelocity has a way to check flexible dates between cities. You didn't mention what cities you would be coming or going from but I checked Philly to Minneapolis and came up with a price of $243. There is also a farewatcher sevice on their website that will let you know if there is a price drop.
