God is male and female, alpha and omega, beginning and end.
The reason He is refered to as He is that his just/righteous side is dominate over His mercy/love side.

Crazy question, but it still deserves an answer.
God bring male is a manner of speaking, because God is not human, does not have a body of any kind, or physical appearance. Now, what kind of pronouns should we use: "it" is out of question, as reserved for things and animals, not personal, rational beings; "he" is more general than "she".
The Son of God however, when he became human in the womb of St. Mary, the Mother of God, took human nature in the male gender. If you read the Gospels, you will see that He was circumcised when He was eight days old, as it was the custom for the Jews.

I believe that he is male, not in the common sense we understand of being with a penis but more. I cannot explain God, we are sinful and finite beings and He is all powerful and infinite. I would assume though that he is masculine God and he knows everything so he knows everything about women too which doesn't make him a female but that he made females so he knows them better than men.

I asked this before to someone I knew (he thought it was a pretty good question, and yes, he was a born-again Christian). Does God have, well, male genitals. If so, why? Is there Goddess? The Bible says no. If not, how can man be made in God's image and not woman? He didn't have an answer, but said he would get back to me (he never did).

The term father means life giver. The father of us all is God. Since father is considered a male role in the family, it is easier for His worshippers to call Him father

God as the Male principle of creation refers to the quality of stability/control, and the Female principle of creation as the diversity/changing aspect of nature.
You could call it sexist I guess becasue it says Males are more stable than Females, but at the same time it is saying that the Female quality is more diverse and expressive than the Male.
I'd say God in its true state is beyond male and female, just as it is beyond good and bad, but in terms of definitions, Male is the stable axis to which the Female principle of diversity rotates.
Don't think too sexually about it.

God is beyond gender, being completely self suffiecent. However, for the sake of us mortals He revealed Himself in the Masculine.
