They dont get mad at me. Mabye they get such a lack of money and get self rightous and start judging the people that dont donate as cheap jerks even though they have no place doing it. If they get mad next time tell them to get a different x-mas job because they are giving the salvation army a bad name with their attitude.,

They do not want to help the Salvation Army. It is supposed that they volunteer to be there. If you do not donate they shouldn't get mad. They must accept your decision and give the best of them in order to promote donation. their best is a nice expression to everybody. If the person behind you see them being nice with everyone he/she may donate, but if they see aggression...I would not.

Well... its not nice for them to get mad. But maybe they're just jaded by this world now a days, people seem selfish and rude, always in a hurry. Theres definately great, giving people out there as well though. And I guess they can get fed up outside ringing a bell all day, hoping for better results... but acting mad towards people isn't appropriate either. I always feel horrible because I NEVER carry cash on me anymore. I always use my debit card for shopping and I hate walking by those guys and not giving, I feel like crap but I just never think to go to the bank and get cash out since I'm so used to just using my debit card... anyway don't let them be rude, just say you support their cause, you give when you can and Merry Christmas. It makes you seem like a better person for that anyway :)

the Salvation Army rewards their bell ringers with incentives and extra hours if they collect the most money. the ringer who gets the most donations gets their pick of locations.
you may have donated already, but not to them on that day
being a bell ringer is a cut throat business

you'd probably be cranky too if you had to listen to that d*mn bell all day

i dont think it is rite that they are there anyway i think it is wrong to guilt someone into giving money to something you never know where it goes to.. i donate all the time but i always find a family in my town who needs something for exp this yr for xmas at our xmas party instead of exchanging gifts we are having a wrapping party we all are buying gifts for a family who's house burnt down. and i also donated toys to another family that way i can do it when and to who i want not to some guy with a bucket that probably takes half the cash anyway...

Wow, do they get mad? Sorry to hear that. Not very much in the spirit of what they're doing, eh? Maybe they're just having a bad day. Send them prayers - that's my best suggestion.

I've never seen one get mad. If one of those b*st*rds gave me any lip I'd punch them in the face.
