if we're not including disposable diapers as a given then those. If they're already in the obvious column...then the travel swing or the baby seat. For about 3 months my daughter has an almost constand ear infection...she couldn't sleep laying down and anytime she was flat on her back she would just SCREAM in pain. We put her travel swing right next to our bed and she slept in that until she was better. It was a life saver.

Besides the obvious like diapers and wipes, when my son was a couple months old, the swing was awesome. He would take a nap in it while I was able to do things around the house or even just sit and relax.

The Johny Jumper!!!! Keeps them happy, great exercise for those little legs and is a great babysitter because they cannot climb out of it. I specialized mine so I could hang it from a hook screwed into a ceiling beam so baby won't bang their little fingers like they do when in a doorway. Best money I ever spent! I used to sit there and wonder how I could make one for myself. LOL!

I think that aside from the obvious things, it would have to be the bouncy seat (one of those seats that vibrate and play music) and when they could sit up better, their baby swing!!

Baby wipes...they have turned into my all-purpose cleaner. Try them out in your bathroom & kitchen!!
My next pick would be the jolly jumper...although he wasn't in it for long (2 months) I swear by this as we think it strengthened his legs so he was able to walk sooner (at 9 months).

baby einstein blocks! The other stuff is a given (diapers, wipes, car seat, blankys, pacifier, bottles) But something that will entertain her and that we can do together...baby einstein blocks! the yellow one quaks like a duck. Shes 1 and it still makes her laugh
