i have a project to do on what cars are "made in the USA". The cars must be assembled in the USA with 75% USA parts. If they do they will have a sticker on it that says Made in USA. I am just asking about Toyotas but any other brand would be very helpful as well. Thank you

The Camry is made in Kentucky (there is a sticker on the driver door of my Camry that says it was made there)

The new Tundra will be made in an all new plant in San Antonio Texas.

And the Corollas, Matrixs', and Tacomas are made in Northern California at Toyota's joint venture plant with GM called NUMMI (New United Motoring Manufactor Inc.)

The only Toyotas that are still imported from Japan are the Prius, Lancruiser, FJ Cruiser, and I believe the 4Runner. Atleast my 03 4Runner was. It has stickers that said it was built in Japan.

About the previous comment, yes imported cars will have hooks on the undercarriage of the car that is used when the car is being shipped overseas. My 4Runner has hooks in the front and rear, however my Camry doesn't.

The way to tell if a Toyota was made in the USA is by the VIN number (vehicle identification number). You'll find it behind the windshield or stamped on the engine block.

If the first digit is a number, it was make in the US. If it's a J, it was manufactured at a plant in Japan. I used to work at a Toyota dealership. Hope this helps.

Toyota is Japanese and uses 35%-50% of American parts. Yes they are made here in USA. But GM has the most cars made here in USA. But Some Chrysler and Fords are made in Canada.

This is somewhat off but it may help- I once read that Toyotas produced in Japan have a certainb type of hook on the underbody for the cargo straps in shipment. If this is true and those hooks are not there, you may look for the sticker.

Hope this was at least partially helpful.

Stop by your local new car dealer and check. I don't think is a good idea for you to ask us to do your homework for you.
