Some of the tribe kept their beliefs in patches, but almost all Native Americans were either killed or converted to Christianity like my Cherokee ancestors.

Many of them live on reservations. It is not a proud past America has in that respect, because the government, which is the people, mostly put them there. The land quality is poor, and it can be very hard for them to live there.

Many of them, that live on reservations and in regular residential area's blended into the general population do still practice they're tribal ways.

They are not all Christian, as none of are. I mean, the population of America is not forced into Christianity, that is a choice.

At least today it is, though not neccasarily in the recent historical past.

Some still uphold the beliefs and traditions of their ancestors, although some of these people are greatly segregated from the rest of society. Many others have changed their ways to that of most people in the Western world. Some have adapted the culture but still practice their ancestors' religion.

Many of them were forced into Christian 're-education' camps in the 19th and 20th centuries. Some resisted this and retained their native religious beliefs. Others merged their native beliefs with the Christian ones. Since the 1960s there has been an interest in reclaiming previous religious identities and knowledge. Different tribes can be vary different in these regards, however, so asking broadly can be difficult.

There is the Native American Church (they use peyote in their rituals), based on Native American beliefs. There are also several books out about Native American beliefs (The Gospel of the Redman is one). There have been some which were raised Christian that have went back to their native beliefs (some lament that more haven't done it).
