I mean think of all the germs and crap that people have on their hands and the little kids that go up there and put their hands in everything, I may be obsessive compulsive or whatever but I think thats so nasty.

No, you are right. It IS nasty! People do spread all of their germs by touching everything, sneezing on everything, etc. Plus, that food has been sitting out for who knows how long . . . (Those all-you-can-eat sushi buffet places particularly gross me out for that reason!)
Add to that the fact that the food at buffets, while cheap, is usually mediocre at best, why bother? Ewww!

It is nasty. Thats why they're going through this whole "health report" phase within the restaurants. Germs are everywhere, especially in buffets. Some buffets have little shed tops over the food so that all a person could do is grab food with the clamps. It helps. But I agree with you.

I guess it depends on where you eat. The place we go is very clean, and I have never seen kids putting their hands in everything. Actually, they can't reach the buffet where we go. I have been a manager of sevral eating places, so I am aware of the cleanliness of the buffets!

Since all three times I've eaten at (separate) buffets I've come down with a wicked case of the food poisoning I'd have to agree with you.

Alot of the more upscale buffet places have people whose job is just to hang around the food tables to keep people from doing all that gross stuff LOL but yeah the cheap places are nausous...

I agree. I think off all those people who don't wash their hands after going to the bathroom, then touching the same tongs I now have to pick up.

Nevermind kids sticking their dirty hands right in the food. BLECK!!

It's a great way to get norovirus.

No, you're not alone. Buffets are nasty. I am by no means a germaphobe, but still... I've been invited by family members to go to them before, and it just makes my skin crawl.

They are grose! Even people just talking are spraying germs all over the food. It would be decent if everyone were consious about what they are doing and places they are putting things!!

I have learned very quickly how cheap and gross buffet food is, I just tried not to think about the germs. Thanks, now I REALLY wont go to one again.

[turns green] I agree with you 100%. I can’t stand eating out at all because of the idea of other people I don’t know touching my food. I mean…just imagine where they have been.
